All Umbrella Companies Are Equal reach out to Unions to offer support to contractors who are being switched from CIS to Umbrella.
UK Umbrella company service providers have no official regulatory body to oversee them. In this environment, compliant umbrella companies deal directly with HMRC, and some of the more proactive providers amongst them have got together and formed ‘All Umbrella Companies are Equal’, a leading trade association of compliant umbrella company providers.
‘All Umbrella Companies Are Equal’ (AUCAE) have become concerned by recent press releases from Unite the Union and UCATT, because they appear to misunderstand how the umbrella company model works and what it’s designed to achieve. To some extent this is understandable, because unfortunately there are still companies out there that market themselves as “umbrella companies”, when in reality they offer a model that deviates from what AUCAE would classify as a true UK compliant umbrella service.

AUCAE are reaching out to the Unions’ and have stated that they are more than happy to provide further information in respect of these matters to help develop a better understanding of umbrella companies and why recent legislation changes are moving contractors away from CIS and towards PAYE if they use a recruitment agency to source their work.
